Doris L. Chandler

Doris L. Chandler, age 83, formerly of Monmouth, Ill., passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Toulon Health Care Center in Toulon, Ill. Doris was born on March 11, 1926, in Monmouth, the daughter of Ross and Zelma Robbins Sage. Doris was raised in Monmouth and attended Monmouth Public Schools. Doris married Homer Chandler. He preceded her in death. For a time Doris worked with her mother in the Z and D Restaurant in Little York, Ill. She was an avid doll collector and life long member of the Doll Club. Doris is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, two brothers: Gary Sage and Marilyn of Galesburg and Irvin Sage. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband. one sister Wilda Sage and one brother Roscoe Sage. Services:A graveside committal of her ashes will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009, in the Little York Cemetery. No visitation or calling hours are planned by the family. A memorial fund is being established for the Alzheimer's Unit at the Toulon Health Care Center in Toulon. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
