Dorothy L. Sharp

Dorothy L. Sharp, age 87, formerly of Monmouth, IL; passed away on October 3, 2014 at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Illinois at 6:10 am. She was born on September 19, 1927 in Walnut Grove and is the daughter of George S. and Nora E. Taylor Wolf. She was reared and educated in the Walnut Grove area where she attended local schools and high school. She was first married to Robert W. Fengel and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1979. During this time he and she resided in the Greenbush and Roseville area. She later was married to Glenn A. Sharp on May 30, 1981 in Monmouth, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1990 residing in Monmouth, during this time. Dorothy was a homemaker in her own home raising and caring for her family. She is a fifty-nine year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Macomb, Illinois. She enjoyed handwork and making crafts. She also loved going to yard sales. Surviving her is one son, David Fengel of Gladstone, Illinois. Three granddaughters survive, Karenina (Louie) Marcet of Jefferson City, MO; LaDawna Raymond of Springfield, IL; and Abby Fengel of Monmouth, IL. There are five grandsons, Larry Raymond, Jr. of Macomb, IL; Reece (Angela) Raymond of Downs, IL; Chad Raymond of Macomb, IL; Courtney (Heather) Raymond of Lincoln, IL; and Zach Fengel of Monmouth, IL. There are several great grandchildren also surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, both husbands, a daughter Beverly Raymond, two sisters Virginia Demott and Marilyn Jayne and grandson Michael Fengel Services:A graveside funeral service is planned on Thursday October 9, 2014 at the Monmouth Cemetery at 11:00 am. Her family plans visitation at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, receiving friends from 9:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established by her family and will be designated later.
