Douglas E. " Ed " Alexander, age 68, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at home on March 25, at 4:10 pm. Ed was born on March 19, 1945 in Sheridan, Michigan. He is the son of Doyle Westly and Retha Lorraine Buckle Alexander. He was raised in Belding, Michigan where he attended and graduated from Belding High School. He married to Jeanne G. Anderson Seiver on July 10, 2000 in Monmouth, Illinois. Ed was employed at Maytag in Galesburg, Illinois for twelve years. He was a mechanic and construction worker in the local area for many years.He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and many outdoor activities. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Surviving is his wife, Jeanne Alexander of Monmouth, Illinois; two daughters, April Seiver of Monmouth, IL and Sandra (Wayne) McDorman of Galesburg, IL; two sons, Ronald Seiver of Monmouth and Wesley Alexander; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving is his mother, Lorraine Reminder of Belding, Michigan; and two sisters, Kay Dickens and Becky (Raymond) Austin, both of Belding, Michigan, and one brother Charles (Doris) Alexander of Kissimmee, Florida. He is preceded in death by his father; step father, Melvin Reminder; and two brothers, Donald and James Alexander. Services:A memorial service will be at 2:00p.m. on April 2, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation was accorded. Burial of his ashes will be in Rest Haven Memory Garden in Belding, MI at a later date. A memorial fund is being established by his family.
