E. Bette Ruberg

E. Bette Ruberg, age 75, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at her home in Oquawka, on August 22, 2010. Bette was born February 7, 1935 in Burlington, Iowa and is the only child of Wally and Verlee Gobert. She was raised in Burlington, and attended Sanderson Grade School, the Oak Street Junior High, and the class of 1953 at Burlington High School, and received her G.E.D. in 1979. Bette was married to Charlie R. Ruberg on July 26, 1954 in Gladstone, Illinois. She is a homemaker and a charter member of F.O.E. Auxiliary 3629 in Oquawka, Illinois and a member of the Oquawka United Methodist Church. Bette enjoyed annual trips to Hawaii, and being near the Mississippi river. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her main interest. She is survived by her husband Charles R. Ruberg of Oquawka, her daughter Linda Miller (Todd) of Oquawka, Illinois, two sons Michael R. Ruberg and Bruce A. Ruberg both of Oquawka, Illinois. Grandchildren also survive, Colby, Ryan, and Katelyn Miller all of Oquawka, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Thursday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. Her family plans to be at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:30 am prior to the service to receive friends. Friends may call at the funeral home during the day on Wednesday. Memorial funds have been established for either Oquawka United Methodist Church or the Oquawka Volunteer Ambulance Service.
