Edith C. Robinson, age 83, of Monmouth, passed away at 4:24 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Roseville Rehab Health Care in Roseville, Ill. She was born on May 31, 1929 in Decorra, Ill., and is the daughter of David and Clara Tracy Lair. She was reared and educated in Hancock Country and graduated from Dallas City High School. Edith married Lloyd Robinson, Sr., on April 14, 1948 in Macomb, Ill. He preceded her in death in April of 1991. Edith worked for a time at Spurgeons in Macomb, and the McDonough County District Hospital. She was a homemaker most of her life raising five sons, and taking care of them. Edith most of all loved getting her whole family together and spending time with everyone. Edith is survived by five sons; John Robinson (Brenda) of Industry, Ill., Lloyd Robinson, Jr. (Brenda) of Monmouth, Larry Robinson (Pam) of Macomb, Ill., Steve Robinson of Palm Harbor, Fl., and Tom Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Ia. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, one brother Richard Lair of Ft. Madison, Ia., and three sister-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, husband, seven brothers, and two sisters. Services:A graveside committal of ashes will be on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, Ill. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth where her family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
