Elder E. Ingle, age 85, of Oquawka, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Ill. Elder was born on March 8, 1924 in West Jersey, Ill., the son of Henry and Mary K. Ingle. On March 27, 1948, he married Betty M. Tillie in Galesburg, Ill. Ingle worked for the R.I., CB&Q, and Santa Fe Railroads, Winnabango Industries in Forrest City, Ia., and finally the Scott-Ford Heat Treating Plant in Rock Island, Ill. until is retirement. Elder enjoyed fishing, CB radios (Hickroy Nut), rides in the country, and butterscotch ice cream. Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Ingle of Oquawka, two daughters; Patricia Quick (Bill Tobias) of Oquawka & Christine Pypher (David) of Grimsby, Ont., Canada. One son, Stanley Ingle (Maggi) of Aurora, Col., ten grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one grandson, one granddaughter, seven brothers and five sisters. Services:A graveside committal of ashes will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010, at the Oquawka Cemetery, Oquawka, Ill. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is in charge of the arrangements.
