Eleanor L. Enslow, age 80, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 1:25 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born on February 1, 1933 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Harry R. and Hilda (Brinton) Miller. She was raised in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School. Eleanor married Donald Enslow on May 5, 1951 in Woodstock, Illinois and he preceded her on March 16, 2005. Eleanor was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, quilting, and genealogy. She and her husband both enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was employed for a time at Gale Products in Galesburg, Illinois and Patton's Seed and Hardware in Monmouth, Illinois. Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Diane (Lew) McCann of Monmouth and Debbie Bond of Kewanee, Illinois, one son, Jeffrey (Karen) Enslow of Donahue, Iowa, one brother, Donald (Mary) Miller of Monmouth, one sister, Wilma (Gerald) Sheese of Monmouth, Illinois, 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son-in-law, Daniel Bond and her sister-in-law, Geraldine Chewning. Services:Cremation is being accorded. A memorial service will be on Friday August 9, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois at 1:30 pm. Her ashes are to be interred in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery at a later time. A memorial fund has been established for American Ex-Prisoners of War fund.
