Elmer L. Hull

Elmer L. Hull age 86, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 8:21 pm on April 15th, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Elmer was born on November 11, 1924 in Kirkwood, Illinois and is the son of Clarence and Bertha Roller Hull. His early years were in Norris town, Kentucky. He was also educated in the local schools of Harding Maple Grove, and Willitts here in Monmouth. He married Sara N. Sickles on August 15, 1945 in Horse Cave, Kentucky. Elmer was employed for a year with Baldridge Roofing in Monmouth. He also worked for the State of Illinois Highway Garage, and sixteen years at the Gamble Skogmo Warehouse both in Monmouth. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf as his hobbies. He is survived by his wife Sara of Monmouth, and three daughters Nancy (Larry) Livingston and Linda Y. Fry (Don Peterson), both of Monmouth; and Madeline (Steve) Swanson of Alabaster, AL. One son Gary Hull of Monmouth, Illinois survives. Five granddaughters Michelle (Andy) Ribaudo of Cincinnati, Ohio, Amy (Nick) Nero of Monrovia, CA., Brandy (John) Sivley of Helena, AL, Kristy Cofield of Alabaster, AL, and Rachel (Brook) Keele of Des Moines, IA. Five grandsons Michael (Kendra) Livingston of Roseville, IL, Joey (Nicole) Hull and Matthew (Toby)Livingston, both of Monmouth, Steven (Maranda) Swanson of Springville, AL; and David Swanson of Alabaster, AL. There are eleven great granddaughters and seven great grandsons. One brother Earl (Audrey) Hull of Monmouth, also survives. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Michael, three brothers, and one sister. Services:A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Monmouth Cemetery. His family will be present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening to receive friends at Turnbulls in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established for the World War II Honor Flight or the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.
