Ernest Young, age 51, of Roseville, Illinois; passed away at 3:04 am on March 24th, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born April 3, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Meredith and Gloria Birdsell Young. Ernest was raised in the rural Cameron area and attended local schools. He received his G.E.D. in 1996. He previously married Cindy Shughart in 1980 and later married Brenda Kidd in 1987. Ernest was employed in Peoria, Ill. as a carpenter for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and especially spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife Brenda Young of Roseville, Illinois and two children Jennifer Young in Nebraska, and Justin Kidd in Peoria, Illinois. There are seven grandchildren surviving Deondra, Jordan, Xavier, Breanne, Alesia, Kaleb, and Alexis. There is one brother surviving Carl Young (Sharon) of Dahinda and two sisters Sandy Daniel (Bill) of Roseville, Illinois and Donna Baity (Vic) of Monmouth, Illinois. Many nieces and nephews also are surviving. Preceding him in death are his parents, and a grandson Justin Kidd Jr. Services:A memorial visitation is planned at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from noon to 2:00 p.m. Cremation has been accorded.
