Esther Ann Musser

Esther Ann Musser, age 83, of Smithshire, Ill., passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.. She was born on October 3, 1928 in the Gladstone Township, Ill., and is the daughter of Carl A. and Hildur Danielson Johnson. Esther Ann graduated from the Media Weaver High School, and she later attended Brown Business College in Galesburg, Ill. She married Ray C. Musser on March 12, 1949 in Stronghurst, Ill., he preceded her in death on July 5, 2008. Esther Ann was a bookkeeper for a time at FS in Stronghurst, Ill. She then decided stay home and take care of her family. Her family always came first. Esther Ann was a member of the 1st Lutheran Church in Monmouth, and she enjoyed going to church. She also volunteered at the nursing home in Roseville. Esther Ann is survived by five daughters; Martha Ann Menton (Mike) of Culpeper, Va., Reva Joyce Stachniw (Marty) of Galesburg, Ill., Ruth Ellen Gibb (Gary) of Media, Ill., Lillie Marie Dragoo (Denny) of German Town Hills, Ill., and Karen Rae Heap (Bryan) of Stronghurst, Ill.. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one granddaughter Diana Marie Dragoo. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the 1st Lutheran Church in Monmouth. Interment will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Ill. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established for the 1st Lutheran Church in Monmouth, and the World Hunger Appeal.
