Eunice I. Carner

Eunice I. Carner, age 83, of Rozetta, Illinois; passed away at OSF St.Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois on September 13, 2018 at 4:44 pm. Eunice was born on September 7, 1935 in Monmouth and is the daughter of John L. and Esther O. Carlson Greene. Eunice was raised and educated in the Rozetta Community where she attended rural schools and she graduated from the Biggsville High School with the class of 1953. She then attended at McMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois. Eunice married James E. Carner on August 27, 1955 in Monmouth, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2011. Eunice first worked for Farm Service in Biggsville where she did office work. She then worked several years at the Farm Credit with Bud Grier as secretary. Lastly she work at Mon-Air and the Monmouth Airport from which she retired. Eunice, around Christmas was known for her Swedish Tea Rings pastry which she baked for her family and her friends. She is a long time and active member of the Rozetta Baptist Church. She is survived by on son, John Carner (Linda) of Tuscola, Illinois and her daughter in law, Nancy Carner in Caledonia, Illinois. Two granddaughters, Beth Carner of South Beloit, Wisconsin and Susan Carner of Brooklyn, New York. Her brothers survive, Charles Green (Judy) and Lovell Green (Mary Jane) both of Rozetta, Illinois and James Green of Burr Ridge, Illinois are surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, and one son, Paul Carner. A funeral service for Eunice I. Carner will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in the Rozetta Cemetery in Rozetta, Illinois. Her family plans a visitation from 9:00 am to 11:00 prior to the service on Tuesday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Memorials may be left to Rozetta Baptist Church.
