Everet D. Lefort

Everet D. Lefort, age 66, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 7:20 pm on September 11, 2010 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, IL. Everet was born on April 7, 1944 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Hillard A. and Elinor F. Payne Lefort. He was raised in Monmouth and attended Monmouth schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1962. After high school he attended General Motors mechanics school in Pontiac, MI .Everet was previously married to Patricia Albert. Everet first was employed at several area garages to include working for Swede Carlson for a time. He then began work at Admiral Corporation in Galesburg, and retired from Maytag in 1999 after 35 years. Everet enjoyed sprint car racing and going to races in Knoxville, Iowa. He also was an avid golfer playing golf at Gibson Woods in Monmouth. As a boy he caddied at Monmouth Country Club. He was of the Presbyterian Faith. Surviving is his daughter Tammy J. Lefort of Monmouth, and his granddaughter Jessica Pettet also of Monmouth. His sister survives Frances A. Bruyn of Monmouth, and two brothers Jim (Ida) Lefort of Yankton, South Dakota and Daniel (Carol) Lefort of Minneola, Florida. A number of Nieces Nephews, and other relatives surviving. Services:A grave side funeral service will be on Thursday at 2:00 pm September 16, 2010 at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday and Thursday at Turnbull Funeral Home, no specific hours for visitation are being planned by his family. A memorial fund is being established for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
