F. Everett Johnson, age 92, of Biggsville, IL. passed away at the Great River Hospice House on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 12:20 pm. Everett was born on March 20, 1922 in rural Biggsville, IL of Henderson County, and is the son of Floyd Everett and Helen Leona South Johnson. Everett attended the "Kirby" rural school in Henderson County. Everett married Frances M. Bielser on June 21, 1941 in Monticello, Missouri. She preceded Everett in death on April 23, 1988. Everett has been a grain and livestock farmer all of his life in Henderson county. He began as a farmer for his uncle, Frank Johnson then worked for Clarence Gray for three years. He was then with Donald Brent and farmed near Gladstone until 1949. Everett moved to Biggsville and Oquawka Township where he farmed since then to the present. After the death of his wife Frances, he turned the operation over to his grandson John Johnson. Everett has always had something to do at home, seven days a week. He was definitely active in Henderson County affairs. He is survived by two sons, Jerry D. (Janet) Johnson of Pensacola, Florida and Larry G. (Carolyn) Johnson of Viola, Illinois. There is one daughter, Frances Kuhn of Gladstone, Illinois. There are 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. There are three sisters, Helen Marie Chambers of Biggsville, Loris Blackburn of San Angelos, Texas and Alleyne Kress Denver, Co. There are two brothers surviving, Edwin Johnson of Biggsville, IL and Clifford (Maida) Johnson also of Biggsville, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Leona Mae, one son, Thomas three brothers, twin granddaughters, Sharen and Karen, and one great-great grandson Ryan White. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Biggsville Township Cemetery at Biggsville, Illinois. His family plans a visitation and will receive friends on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm A memorial fund is being established for either the Great River Hospice House or the Biggsville Ambulance Service.
