F. Stuart Walker, age 75, of Monmouth, passed away at his residence at 8:00 pm on Thursday evening September 9th. "Stu" was born November 5, 1934 in Peoria, Illinois and is the son of Donald and Ila Bruington Walker. Stuart was raised and educated in Monmouth and it's public schools then graduated from Shattuck High School in Faribault, Minnesota in 1952. He then attended Iowa State at Ames,and Monmouth College; before entering Dental school at Washington University in St.Louis, Missouri, from which he received his Dental degree. "Stu" then entered the Army and served four years in the Medical branch in Germany. Stuart was married to Jane F. Williams on April 6, 1963 in Wellesley, Massachusetts. "Stu" began his dental practice in Monmuth in 1963 and practiced in Monmouth for forty-one years. He retired in 2004. He has been a very active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Monmouth and has served several terms as Bishop's Warden. "Stu" was also a long-time member of the Galesburg Tennis Club. He most enjoyed repairs and working at his residence here in Monmouth, IL. Surviving him is his wife Jane F. Walker of Monmouth, his daughter Margaret Gillespie (Charles) of Fishers, IN; and his son Edward Walker (Errin) of Carbondale, Colorado. A granddaughter, Emma Gillespie surviving in Fishers, Indiana and his sister Jane Hardin (Everitt) of Monmouth, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services:A funeral mass will be on Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 10:30 am at Trinity Episcopal Church in Monmouth. His family plans visitation, to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home on Monday September 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in Reynolds Cemetery in Reynolds, Illinois. Memorial funds have been established for either Trinity Episcopal Church or the Galesburg Tennis Club.
