Frances M Carrier

Frances M. Carrier, age 89, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 4:30 pm on January 12, 2012 at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. Frances was born on November 6, 1922 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Harold E. and Marguerite M. Foote Yoder. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1941. Frances married Robert James Carrier on March 22, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri .Frances first was employed at Gale Products, in Galesburg, Illinois and then worked for Greyhound Bus Lines also in Galesburg, Illinois. Frances was a homemaker and member of the Oquawka United Methodist Church, the Brookfield Moose Lodge, and formerly a member of Monmouth Country Club and Hendco Hills golf courses. Surviving Frances is her son, John M. (Irene) Carrier of Oquawka, Illinois and two granddaughters Carey C. (Doug) Gill of Carterville, Illinois and Christina (Steve) Behrens of Greely, CO, three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, and Brittany; and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in her death by her parents, and husband Robert, infant daughter Connie, one sister, and two brothers. Services:Cremation has been accorded earlier. A memorial service and gathering of family and friends will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Interment of her ashes will be in Monmouth Cemetery following. A memorial fund is being established for the Oquawka United Methodist Church.
