Frances L. Clark, age 88, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth surrounded by her family. Frances was born on August 19, 1919 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Joseph E. and Irene Watson Ritter. She attended Monmouth Rural Law School and Farmers Academy. She graduated from Monmouth High School and attended Carl Sandburg Junior College in Galesburg. Frances married Raymond H. Clark in 1937 in Fort Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2006. Frances worked as a book binder at Forman Company for over 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. When her children were growing up, she was a leader with the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts serving as a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. She was a Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge in Monmouth. Frances was a member of the McDounough County Genealogical Society and had several articles published in 1992 History Volume I. Her family was her main interest and greatest joy. Frances is survived by one daughter Linda Sedin and David of Sacramento, California and two sons Ray Clark, Jr. and Joyce of Monmouth, and Jerry Clark in San Diego, California. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Jerry Lee II, Alex, Dana, Anita, Tara, and Justin; and seven great grandchildren, two sisters Dorothy R. Jones of Abingdon, Illinois and Betty Jo Ottoson and Bill of Amarillo, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Frances is preceded in her death by her parents, husband Ray and one son Timothy, two brothers and one sister. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on January 3, 2007 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 2, 2007 at Turnbull Funeral Home from 5:30-7:00 p.m., where her family will be present to receive friends.
