Frances E. Nelson

Frances E. Nelson, age 67, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois. Fran was born on August 17, 1946 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of Norbert Herbert and Esther D. Byers Nelson. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and high school. Frances was employed by Tri-Star Marketing prior to her retirement. She also is a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Frances is survived by her mother, Esther (Byers) Martin of Dixon, IL.; two sisters, Saundra (Jeffery) Schindlbeck of Batavia, IL.; and Sue Evans of Franklin Grove, IL.; and two brothers, Lowell (Eileen) Martin of Norfolk, VA.and James (Cynthia) Martin of Rio Rico, AZ. There are three step children, Shelly (Brian) Hockenberry of Colona, IL.; Tracey (Valery) Buster of Moline, IL.; and Regina Walton of Galesburg, IL. There are six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Fran is preceded in her death by her father, Norbert and step-father Maxwell Martin, a sister, Trudy Nelson, and grandparents, Lester and Florence Nelson and William and Nora Byers. Services:A memorial service is planned for 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will follow the service at Monmouth Cemetery.
