Frances E. Roche, age 83, of Monmouth, passed away at 3:38 p.m., June 10, 2008, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on October 10, 1924, in rural Raritan, Illinois. She is the daughter of Timothy Arthur and Mary Winifred St. Ledger Roche. She was educated in rural Cox School in Raritan. She graduated from Stronghurst High School. After High School, Frances joined the convent in Nauvoo, Illinois, serving the Lord. Health reasons forced her to sadly leave the order. She was then employed for thirty years at Monmouth Hospital, Community Memorial Hospital, and Community Medical Center, as a cook in the cafeteria. She attended Mass every day, and she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth since 1945. Frances was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Most of all, Frances, enjoyed spending time with her brothers, sisters, and family. Surviving Frances are two brothers; Robert R. Roche of Monmouth, J. Donald Roche of Macomb, Illinois, one brother-in-law, Donald W. Perrin of Monmouth, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and one brother. Services:Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2008, with visitation to follow at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth. A memorial fund is being established for Immaculate Conception School.
