Frances I. Stauffer

Frances I. Stauffer, age 86, formerly of Kirkwood, Illinois; passed away at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, IL on December 10, 2012 at 12:15 am. Frances was born on February 11, 1926 in Keokuk, Iowa and is the daughter of Frank and Esther Hartman Jaeger. She was raised in the South English, Iowa are where she attended a one room country rural school and graduated from Webster High School in Webster, Iowa. She then completed a B.S. degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and her M.S. in Education from Western Illinois University at Macomb, IL. Frances married Robert L. Stauffer on June 8, 1958 in Sigourney, Iowa. He proceeded her in death in June of 2008. Frances was a teacher in education and taught Mathematics and Science for a number of years. More recently she was a faculty secretary at Monmouth College for a number of years. Frances is a member of the Kirkwood United Methodist Church in Kirkwood, IL. Frances enjoyed gardening, reading, and puzzles of all kinds. Surviving Frances is her son Robert Mark Stauffer of Monmouth, IL and daughter Ruth Giese (Adam) of Kirkwood, IL. She has five grandchildren, Jessica Stauffer, Benjamin Adams, Brandon Trego, Stasha Pagent, and Emma Giese. There are three great grandchildren also surviving. There is one sister Ruth Hoffman of Rockford, Illinois and one brother Tobias Jaeger in Iowa. Numerous nieces and nephews also are surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, and four sisters. Services:Cremation has been accorded in Quincy, Illinois. A memorial service is planned on Saturday December 15, 2012 at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL at 10:00 am. Memorials are suggested for either the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, or the Kirkwood United Methodist Church.
