Frank Lynn Peoples, 72, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 9:13 p.m. on August 19, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Frank was born on March 23, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Samuel S. and Frankie (Matthews) Peoples. Frank graduated from Quigley South Seminary High School in Chicago and then attended Northwestern University and Roosevelt University.

In his youth, Frank worked for his dad at his fast-food restaurant, later taking over and operating Sam’s Chicken. Frank worked as a bank examiner from 1980 until 1983 when he became a policeman for the Chicago Police Department, earning numerous commendations.

He married Raye Davida Clark on December 31, 1999. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2024. Frank is survived by his children, Kendall Peoples of Chicago, Illinois, Ashely Ebeling of Galesburg, and William Peoples of Galesburg. He is also survived by one sister, Penny Peoples. Along with his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Peoples, Jr.

Frank was never afraid of hard work, often working multiple jobs to support his family. Outside of work, Frank enjoyed collecting car, motorcycle, and gun magazines as well as building airplane models. He was a music aficionado and collected audio equipment. Frank was raised catholic and maintained a strong relationship with God throughout his life.
