Fred J. "Joe" Hager

Fred J. "Joe" Hager, age 61, of Monmouth, IL; passed away at 11:49 pm on Sunday October 6, 2013 at his home in Monmouth, IL. Joe was born on October 28, 1951 in Carthage,Illinois and is the son of James Joseph and Opal Maxine Garret Hager. Joe was raised and educated in Richmond, Missouri and attended Richmond High School. He married Vicki Lynn Bresnahan in Monmouth on October 18,1975. She is surviving. Joe worked at the Junk Yard and worked for Darol Davies at T.J. Davies & Son for many years until it's closing. Joe then started his own business, "Joe's Towing" and ran it until its closing in 1998. He loved his family, grandchildren and his dogs very much. Joe is survived by his wife Vickie Hager of Monmouth, and two daughters Natasha (James) Hager of Waterloo, Wisconsin and Brittany (Jared) Hager of Monmouth, Illinois. There are two grandsons Caleb Hager and Jaxson Miller surviving. Also surviving are sisters, Kate (Tom) Heatherly, Laura and Nina Hager, and Barb (Perry) Piper, all of Monmouth, IL., Cindy Wilson Hager of Ormond Beach, FL, and Marketa (Tracy) Kettenbrink of Monmouth, IL. and one brother, Arthur Hager of Monmouth, IL. A number of nieces and nephews also are surviving. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother James, and one sister Ida. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday October 11, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL with interment in Monmouth Cemetery. His family plans visitation with his family present at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday evening. A memorial fund is being established and will be designated at a later date.
