Garry L. Rankin
August 10, 1948 — April 20, 2020
Garry L Rankin passed away April 20, 2020 at the Bradford Home, Tucson, Az. He died of natural causes after suffering a stroke in 2004, (no COVID 19).
Garry was born August 10, 1948 in Monmouth Il. He graduated from Union High School. He assisted his father on the farm in Rozetta Township after graduation. He then served ten years in the US Army, serving overseas and state side, finally stationed at Ft. Huachuacha, Sierria Vista, Az. After an Honorable discharge, he resided in Sierria Vista,Az. He was self employed as a paint contractor until 2000 when he moved to Tucson. He had never married and had no children.
He enjoyed watching Western movies and listening to music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mablejane Rankin.
He is survived by his sister Sharilyn (Sharry) Stevenson, two nephews, Lonny and Cory Stevenson, and two grand nephews and two grandnieces.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions private graveside service only will be held. The date of service is to be announced. Service will be held at the Biggsville Township Cemetery.
The family requests no flowers but would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
