Gary L. Icenogle

Gary L. Icenogle, age 67, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at his home on April 2, 2012 at 10:15 am. Gary was born on March 12, 1945 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Finley Icenogle and Opal Munson. He was raised in Smithfield and Cuba Illinois where he attended public schools and High School. After high school he then received his G.E.D. Gary married Jackie Skees on November 1, 1969 in Monmouth, Illinois. Gary began work at Winkler Feeds in Monmouth, then worked for a time at Admiral Corporation in Galesburg, IL. Later he worked at Swede Carlson's Service in Monmouth and then was employed over thirty years with the City of Monmouth and American Water. Gary is a member of the National Rifle Association and member of "Bassmasters" He loved the out of doors. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren; and Sundays were a special treat for the family. He truly loved his job and all the employees who worked under him. Gary liked fishing, billiards, and his "Kubota" had a special place in his heart. Surviving Gary are his wife Jackie of Monmouth; two daughters, Teresa (Dallas Lopez) Icenogle of Bettendorf, IA and Tammy (Andy) Davis of Alexis, IL; three granddaughters Ashley Cummings, Alexis Icenogle, and Tyler Lopez, all of Bettendorf, IA; and two grandsons Thomas Davis and Austin Davis both of Alexis, Illinos. Two brothers also survives, Dale Icenogle in Texas and Larry Abbadusky of Little York, IL. Two Sisters, Gale (Mike) Crowe and Vicki Ring, both of Texas. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one son Tom Chenault, Jr. Services:A funeral service will be on Saturday April 7, 2012 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. His family plans to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday evening at Turnbulls. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery.
