Genevieve Cole

Genevieve Cole, age 98, of Biggsville, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Roseville Rehab and Healthcare Center in Roseville, Illinois. She was born on October 4, 1919 in Rural Henderson County near Gladstone, Illinois, the daughter of James and Jessie (Essex) Kilgore. Genevieve was reared and educated in the Biggsville, Illinois area and graduated from Biggsville High School with the Class of 1937. She was previously married to James R. Cole. Genevieve worked for the Bloodmobile for twenty-five years. She also did housekeeping for the Henderson County Health Department and volunteered at the LaMoines Christian Nursing Home in Roseville, Illinois for thirty-five years. She loved to go fishing, taking care of her gardens and iris, and scrap-booking She also enjoyed decorating Christmas ornaments and seasonal calendars during the holidays. Genevieve is survived by two sons; James "Jim" (Theresa) Cole of Rockport, TX and Max (Judy) Cole of Smithshire, IL, two granddaughters, five grandsons, and a number of great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her special friend, Joe White. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Biggsville United Methodist Church in Biggsville, Illinois. Her family plans visitation from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the Church. Interment will be at the Biggsville Cemetery. A memorial fund in being established for the Biggsville United Methodist Church or the Roseville Rehab and Healthcare Center.
