Georgia Ann Van Winkle, age 73, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 10:40 pm on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. She was born on June 21, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa and is the daughter of Delbert Paul and Olive Evelyn Loeffers Loper. Georgia was raised in Burlington, Iowa where she attended local schools and graduated from the Burlington High School with the class of 1960. She then received her nursing degree from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington and has been a registered nurse in the area. She was first married to Harry I Whitmore. She later was married to Tilford Gordan Van Winkle on June 18, 1985 in Las Vega, Nevada. He is surviving. Georgia first was employed at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Burlington, IA and later worked at the Burlington Medical Center for a number of years. She then was the "Director of Nursing" at Rosebush Nursing Home and later at Rose Bush Assisted Living. She is a faithful member of Faith Bible Church in Oquawka, and a devoted homemaker, mother, and, grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Charlie) Conrad of Crawfordsville, Iowa and two step daughters, Juliana Zane of Bonaparte, Iowa and Jennifer VanWinkle-Nordby (Erik) in Norway. There is one son, Anthony (Brenda) Whitmore of Santa Rosa. CA and one step sons, Jason (Wendy) Van Winkle in Georgia, There are ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren surviving. One brother, Paul (Donna) Loper of Galesburg, IL, and four sisters, Helen (Wayne) Crandall of Oquawka, IL, Carmen (Larry) Hartman of Oquawka, IL, Carolyn Norder in Texas, and Delene Wilson of Oquawka, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and a daughter, Linda. Services:A funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery following. Her family plans a visitation at Turnbull Funeral Home receiving their friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday evening at the Turnbull Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established for the Faith Bible Church of Oquawka, Illinois.
