Gerald E. Meyers

Gerald E. “Jerry” Meyers, 78, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Allure of Lake Storey, Galesburg.

Jerry was born November 26, 1947, in Vallejo, California, the son of Eugene C. and Darlene D. (Engelbrecht) Meyers. Jerry served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1968. He worked in construction for many years.

Jerry is survived by two brothers, Ron Meyers of Peoria, Illinois and Terry (Sandra) Meyers of Pekin, Illinois; and one sister, Judith Tribbett of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timmey.

Jerry enjoyed being outdoors and active from hobbies like hiking, bike riding, and roller skating. He also enjoyed camping and was of the Baptist faith.

Cremation has been accorded. Burial of cremated remains with military rites will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois.
