Harold D. Ashby

Harold D. Ashby, age 65, of Monmouth, Ill., passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill. Harold was born on January 10, 1944, in Canton, Ill., the son of Robert and Leona Robison Ashby. Harold graduated from Valley High School. Harold served in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam. Harold was previously married to Treva Williams. Harold was a truck driver for 20 years. He loved watching Cardinal baseball and football and spending time fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed his computer and going to the boat. Harold is survived by one son Chad Ashby of Monmouth, four grandchildren, Alexandria Ashby, Chandler Vanfleet, Karliegh Ashby and Khale Vanfleet. Also surviving are five brothers Kenneth Ashby (Sharon) of Knoxville, Ill., Jim Ashby (Lucille) of Gerlaw, Ill., Keith Ashby of Galesburg, Larry Ashby and Raymond Ashby of Knoxville. Services:A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. No visitation or calling hours are planned. Cremation has been accorded.
