Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Madalynn (Dikeman) Benson, 3 sisters, Barbara Ann Benson, Marion Lucille Benson, Mary Lou Morse, and his daughter, Michelle Benson Flores, and his son Scott Benson, (Mary). Gene was a man who lived life to the fullest, leaving behind a legacy defined by his competitive spirit, and deep love for his family and friends.

A devoted husband for 48 wonderful years, Gene took great joy in pampering his wife, making every moment spent together an adventure. Their travels in their motorhome brought them countless memories, particularly cherished times spent in Arizona. His zest for life also included his famous mac n cheese and oatmeal raisin cookies delighting all who were fortunate enough to enjoy his culinary talents.

Gene was known for his competitive nature, striving for excellence in everything he did. A memorable highlight of his life was achieving a perfect 300 in bowling, a testament to both his skill and dedication to the sport. His love for bowling was matched only by his loyalty to the New York Yankees, whose games he eagerly watched, (especially when winning). Gene was well known as a very dedicated hard worker and problem solver, and was well loved by his coworkers at Caterpillar.

Gene's affectionate bond with his beloved dog, Cricket, brought him immense joy, and he often shared stories of their time together, reflecting his nurturing spirit. He enjoyed dining out, with a particular fondness for Gil's restaurant, where he created more cherished moments with loved ones.

As we remember Gene Benson, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, faith, laughter, and remarkable achievements. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
