Harold  "Wayne" Graber Profile Photo

Harold "Wayne" Graber, age 94, of Monmouth, IL; passed away at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth on September 11, 2013 at 10:27 pm. Wayne was born on July 4, 1919 in Scotland County of Memphis, MO. and is the son of Harry Esben and Ola Mary Black Graber. He was raised and educated in Scotland County rural schools and graduated from Memphis High School with the class of 1937. He then attended Chillocothe Business College in Chillocothe, Missouri. Wayne entered service to his country in the Army for which he was a staff sargent during World War II serving in the 6th Infantry Division in the Pacific. He was married to Anna Mae McGee on November 2, 1950 in Memphis, Missouri, and she is surviving. Wayne first was the owner and operator of " Graber Skelly Oil Station " in Memphis, MO from 1946 to 1950. He moved to Monmouth in 1956 and was employed at "Wells Pet Food " in Monmouth for seventeen years. He also was employed in "Receiving" at Huskee Built Buildings of Monmouth. Wayne also for a number of years was employed in Maintenance and Grounds by Monmouth Park District and then a few years with Gibson Woods Golf Course until his retirement. Wayne is survived by his wife Anna Mae Graber of Monmouth, IL; two daughters Pamela A."Randy" Biddle of Little York, Illinois and Tina M. Liroff of Dallas, Texas. One son Stephen W. "Jean" Graber of Tinley Park, IL and 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen and Mary, and one brother, Charles. Services:A visitation and service will be at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL on Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A graveside interment with full military honors will be on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri. A memorial fund is being established by his family for the Heritage United Presbyterian Church or Monmouth Park District.
