Harvey W. Petri

Harvey W. Petri, age 80, of Monmouth passed away at 1:50 a.m., Wednesday,February 23,2011 in Monmouth. Harvey was born on December 19,1930 in Pike County, Illlinois. He was the son of Francis C. and Bertha Robbins Petri. He attended Marble Head School Meredosia, Illinois and Fey School and Rushville High School in Illinois. He married Joyce Marie Cox at the Methodist Church in Rushville, Illinois on December 31, 1955. Harvey farmed in Schuyler County and worked 30 years at Maytag in Galesburg, Illlinois as a Repairman. He loved hunting and fishing and playing cards with his family. He is survived by his wife Joyce of Monmouth, Illlinois, two sons Brad W. Petri of Middletown,Iowa and Todd Petri of Monmouth, Illinois, four sisters Deloris (Dave) Vorwerk, Jenell ( Charles) Swearingen, Joyce (Joe) Bowman and Carol (Paul) Perry all of Rushville,Illinois, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding Harvey in death are his parents, sister Bonnie and two brothers Allen and Lyle. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Turnbull Funeral Home Monmouth with interment in the Warren County Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. A memorial fund is being established by the family.
