Helen L. Clark, age 97, of Monmouth, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Ill. She was born on December 25, 1912 in Hersman, Ill., the daughter of Latin and Alta Thomas Lenz. Helen was reared and educated in Hersman, and graduated from Hersman High School. She married Lyle Clark on August 5, 1931 in Rushville, Ill., he preceded her in death on June 30, 1979. Helen first worked at the Form Fit for 5 years. She then worked as a house parent with her husband for one year at the St. Charles Boys School in St. Charles, Ill. Helen last worked at Monmouth Nursing Home for 25 years, she retired in 1975. She was a member of the Cameron Christian Church and the CWF, and the Rebecca Lodge. Helen enjoyed going to bible study, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Helen is survived by her children; Barbara Sloan of Wyoming, Ill., Ruth Ann Olson of Galesburg, Ill., June Hawk of Monmouth, Gerald Clark (Janet) of Lakeside, Az., Will Clark (Alice) of Monmouth, Bob Clark (Cecelia) Cadillac, Mi., and Ed Clark of rural Galesburg, Ill. Also surviving is one daughter-in-law Catherine Clark, 42 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, one son Dick Clark, two grandsons, two daughter-in-laws, two son-in-laws, and one sister. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2010, at the Cameron Christian Church in Cameron, Ill. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Friends may call on Sunday evening at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth from 5-7 p.m. where her family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established for the Monmouth Nursing Home, Cameron Christian Church CWF and the Grace Bible Church.
