Helen R. Crandall

Helen R. Crandall, age 75, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away on February 13, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born on September 2, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Olive Loeffel Hand. Helen attended Burlington High School and Southeast Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. On July 31, 1992, she married Wayne Crandall in Middletown, Iowa, and he is surviving. Helen worked at General Electric in West Burlington as a CAD operator. She retired from there after 35 years with the company. Helen was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Oquawka where she assisted with the AWANA program, the Children's Nursery, and the E-Mail prayer chain. She very much enjoyed her Shih Tzu dogs. Helen is survived by her husband, Wayne of Oquawka, Illinois, one daughter, Tina Wesley of Oquawka, Illinois, one step-daughter, Debra Chenoweth of Burlington, Iowa, three sons, Mike (Barbara) Woodyard of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Terry (Lisa) Woodyard of Oakville, Iowa, and Sean (David) Woodyard of Chicago, Illinois. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren surviving. Also surviving are three sisters, Carman (Larry) Hartman of Oquawka, Illinois, Carolyn Norder, Texas, and Delene Wilson of Oquawka, Illinois, and one brother, Paul (Donna) Loper of Galesburg, Illinois. Helen is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Georgia Van Winkle. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Faith Bible Church in Oquawka, Illinois. Visitation is planned for 12:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the Church. Interment will be at the Oquawka Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established for Faith Bible Church in Oquawka, Illinois.
