Helen Lucille Harris

Helen Lucille Harris, age 94, passed away at 1:32 am on Friday, August 3, 2013, at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. She was born on October 31, 1918 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Leslie Ray and Bessie Ann (Evans) Parrish. She attended schools in the Warren County Area. Lucille married Albert C. "Shorty" Harris on January 22, 1938 in Canton, Missouri and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2012. She was a member and Ordained as Deacon of the Heritage United Presbyterian Church and was active in it's Darcas Quilting Circle. Lucille enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, and wife to her husband. Lucille is survived by two daughters, Janet (Larry) Cunningham of Tucson, Arizona and Linda (Ron) Switzer of Florence, Arizona, one son, Larry Harris of Tucson, Arizona, one brother, Ed Parrish of Galesburg, Illinois. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Todd (Robin) Cunningham, Sue (Todd) Dixon, Sheri (Paul) Campbell, Krissy (Todd) Geren, and Wendy Harris. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister. Services:A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will follow at the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Lucille's memory for Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth.
