Helen G. Vaughan, age 100, Formally of 0quawka died February 10, 2012 at the Monmouth Nursing Home. She was born September 29, 1911, the daughter of William & Elzabeth Gibb Sterett, She was a Biggsville High School graduate. She married Clarence John Vaughan September 15, 1928 in St Louis, .Mo.. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1982. Helen assisted her husband in commercial fishing and she was last employed as a grill cook at the former Alfreda's restaurant in 0quawka for 15 years. Helen was a member of the 0quawka Methodist Church Survivors Include daughters Sandra (William ) Moody of 0quawka & Carolyn (David) Dehner of Burlington., Ia. Three grand children & three great grand daughters, several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters & three brothers. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 14, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Ill. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the 0quawka Ambulance services. Interment will be in the Biggsville Cemetery.
