Herman H. Siebert, 90, Monmouth, formerly of Park Forest, IL, died at 2:05 PM Thursday, September 11, 2008, at F Wing of OSF Holy Family Medical Center. He was born April 9, 1918, in New York, New York, the son of Hermann Henry and Margaret (Cordes) Siebert. He was raised and educated in The Bronx, New York, and graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. He married Natalie Haff in St. James Episcopal Church in The Bronx on September 14, 1941. She survives. He worked for Rheem Manufacturing Company for 30 years as a Materials Manager and retired in 1982. He was a member of the Park Forest chapter of Kiwanis International where he served as Treasurer for many years. He was a member of the Monmouth First United Methodist Church and former member of the Church of the Holy Family Episcopal Church in Park Forest. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Janet (Peter) Gebauer, Monmouth, Roy (Diane) Siebert, Orland Park; four grandchildren, Matt Gebauer, Orland Hills, Amy (Robert) Sestito, Philadelphia, PA, Robert Siebert, Orland Park, Scott Siebert, Orland Park; one great-grandchild, Anthony Sestito, Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Siebert, Fernandina, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Briggs. Services:Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 16, at Turnbull Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Sims officiating. A memorial fund is being established for the American Cancer Society.
