Ida  Maxine Kloster Profile Photo

Ida Maxine Kloster of Oquawka, Ill., died February 12, 2009, at Cottage Hospital. She was born on a farm east of Oquawka, February 10, 1919. She was the youngest and last survivor of seven children born to Ethel Watson Fryrear and Daniel Edward Fryrear. In 1937 she married Earle Andrew Kloster. He preceded her in death in 1983. Maxine was a homemaker, mother and secretary in Earle's law office. She attended "The Little Brick" one room school and high schools in Oquawka and Barrington, Ill. Maxine enjoyed daily long walks with her sisters, Opal and Berneice, "The Blister Sisters". She was a lover of music and nature. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and singing in her younger years. Best of all, she was a world traveler, saying "I have seen a lot of the world and I have had my dreams while roaming the hills of Little Brick School. I wish that I could have seen more but I have my memories." Maxine is survived by sons, Sharen Earle Kloster and wife Judy, St. Joseph, Ill., and Dan Andrew Kloster and wife Susan, Snowmass Village, Col., grandson Mark Kloster and wife Tina, Antioch, Ill., and four great grandsons. One dear grandson Daniel Andrew Kloster died in 1990. Services:A memorial service in Oquawka is being planned for the spring. Donations in Maxine's name may be made to the Henderson County Health Department, Gladstone, Ill.
