Ida R. "Rosie" Piper, age 91, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 5:10 pm on February 21, 2013 at her home in Monmouth, Illinois. "Rosie" was born August 14, 1921 in Browning, Illinois and is the daughter of Henry and Elsie E. Belville Skiles. Rosie was raised and educated in Browning, Illinois where she attended Ridgeville rural school. Rosie married Paul Robert Piper on February 14, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri. He passed away on March 23, 2012. Rose was a homemaker and mother to three children. She formerly was a member of Fairview Center United Methodist Church and later the First Church of the Nazarene in Monmouth. She enjoyed reading and in later years was a NASCAR Jeff Gordon fan. She was most interested in the affairs of her family. Surviving are two daughters Sandra Hunt of Monmouth, Illinois and Melody Piper Britton (Denny) of Kirkwood, Illinois. There are four grandchildren, Don A Hunt, Danny E. Hunt, Vickie Hunt, and Debra Price. Two great grandchildren Brian Hunt and Chrissy Hunt Blake and three great great grandchildren, Corbin Blake, Tanner Blake, and Mikayla Blake. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, son Terry, two brothers and two sisters. Services:A funeral service will be on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family plans visitation with the family receiving friends at Turnbulls from Noon to 1:00 pm prior to the service. A memorial fund is established for St. Judes Children's Hospitals.
