Irene Reynolds

Irene Reynolds, age 92, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 12:30 am on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Monmouth Nursing Home. She was born in Raritan, Illinois, the daughter of Joe and Jessie (Burkett) Bollman. She was reared and educated in the Monmouth area. On December 9, 1939, Irene married Leonard LeRoy "Jiggs" Reynolds in Burlington, Iowa. Leonard preceded her in death on December 20, 1991. She was employed at the Faith United Methodist Church, the Monmouth Pottery for a number of years, and the Monmouth Public Schools as an assistant, working with the hot lunch program. She also raised her family and took care of her family. Irene retired in 1984. She was also a member of the Community Memorial Hospital and O.S.F. Holy Family Auxiliary. Irene most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs. Irene is survived by one son, Lenny (Marilynn) Reynolds of Greensboro, NC, one daughter, Judith Reynolds of Monmouth, IL, three grandsons, Joseph (Linda) Greenstreet of Monmouth, IL, Mark Greenstreet of Monmouth, IL, and Michael (Beth) Reynolds of Raleigh, NC., Michelle Greenstreet of Monmouth, Illinois, Laura Reynolds of Raleigh, NC, and Susan (Michael) Pethel of Arden, NC., seven great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Pat Bollman of Monmouth, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Janet I. Greenstreet, daughter, Karen in infancy, two sisters, one brother and one step great-grandson. Services:To honor the wishes of Irene, a graveside funeral service is planned for Friday, October 3, 2014 at 1:30 pm. The service will be conducted at the Monmouth Cemetery in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family has established memorials for Warren Achievement Industries or the Monmouth Nursing Home.
