Isabelle G. "Issie" Johnson

Isabelle G. "Issie" Johnson, age 86, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away at 4:25 p.m. on Monday, Jul 21, 2008, at the Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. Isabelle was born July 5, 1922, in Kirkwood, Illinois, the daughter of James M. and Leona V. Litteral Carnes. She was raised in the Media area and attended Media-Weaver schools in Media, Illinois. Isabelle married Gerald A. "Tump" Johnson on December 2, 1941, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1980. Isabelle was a homemaker in her own home. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, crocheting, bingo and spending time with family and friends. Isabelle is survived by one son Russell Johnson and Joan of Stronghurst, one grandson, Chris Johnson and fiance Maegan Gold of Stronghurst, three great grandchildren, Gerald "Jay" Johnson of Burlington, Iowa, Sabrina Johnson of Burlington, and Rheana Jones of LaHarpe, Illinois. Also surviving are one sister, Betty Carmen and Robert of Stronghurst and one brother Donald Carnes and Jane of Media. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, six brothers and one grandson. Cremation has been accorded. Services:A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Biggsville Cemetery, Biggsville. No family calling hours or visitation are being planned by her family. A memorial fund is being established for the education of her great grandchildren.
