Izayah Lee "Izzy" Schonlau

Izayah L. "Izzy" Schonlau age 15, died in his home on February 19, 2019 in Oquawka, IL. Izzy was born December 17, 2003 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Randall L. Schonlau and Nicole L. (Rhodes) Hull. Izzy attended school in Davenport, IA until 7th grade, 8th grade in Dubuque, IA, and was currently enrolled as a freshman at West Central High School. Izayah loved to fish and often did in the Mississippi and at Lock and Dam 11. He was always bubbly and smiley. He liked to play basketball and football for his West Central High School, wearing the #24 in basketball and #56 in football. Izzy was loved by all of his friends. Surviving is his mother, Nicole Lynn (Rhodes) Hull and step-father Bradley Hull, both of Oquawka, IL; his father Randall Lee Schonlau and step-mother Mickala James, both of Dubuque, IA. Also surviving is one sister, Hanna Schonlau of Oquawka, IL, one brother, Noah James-Schonlau of Dubuque, IA, one step-sister, Sara Hull of Viola, IL; and 5 step-brothers Kalob James of Parkview, IL, Logan and Joseph James of Dubuque, IA, Jacob Hull of Sciota, IL, and Scott Eberhard of Burlington, IA. Izzy also has a maternal grandmother Susan Tonding of Wildwood, MO, maternal grandfather, Rob Girdner of Pacific, MO, and paternal grandmother Tammy Tinsley, of Davenport, IA. Izzy is also survived by two nieces and two nephews and many aunts, uncles , and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Bette Tonding and a paternal great-grandmother Mildred Tinsley. A memorial service is planned for Noon on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the West Central High School gymnasium. The family plans a visitation and will receive friends from 10:00-Noon prior to the service also at the school. Cremation rights are being accorded. A memorial fund is being established to begin a fishing team at West Central High School.
