Jacqueline “Jackie” Marjorie Floyd, 79, of Peoria, Illinois, died at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg, Illinois.
Jackie was born April 8, 1946 in England, the daughter of Jack Dean and Marjorie (Brown) Leucht. She graduated from Manual High School in Peoria in 1964 and went on to graduate from Stevens Cosmetology School. After completing school, Jackie worked several years in cosmetology before transitioning to international reservations for American Airlines and eventually retired from Delta Airlines.
Jackie married Lyle Smith and had two children. She later married James Floyd in 1995 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2009. Jackie is survived by her children, Kurtis (Rosemary) Smith of Gold Hill, Colorado and Sheila (Scott Cruikshank) Smith of Bartonville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Quinton Schupp, Ethan Schupp, Gavin Smith, Sophia Smith, and Brooklyn Cruikshank; and one sister, Kay Foote of Peoria. Along with her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by one nephew, Shawn Foote.
Jackie was a faithful Chicago Cubs fan, enjoying both watching and listening to the games. She was a longtime faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, Peoria. Jackie had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed travelling.
Cremation has been accorded. Jackie’s family will host a memorial service Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Christ Lutheran Church, 2020 W. Malone St., Peoria, IL 61605. A luncheon will follow at the church. Private burial will be at a later date at Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria, IL. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
