Jacquilyn Kay (Gittings) Moore, passed away on July 18, 2024 after a brief illness. Jackie was born in Cook County Illinois. At the age of 9 months, she and her twin sister, Jeanne Althea, were adopted by Althea and Clarence Gittings. Jackie & Jeanne grew up on Wiswell Farm, a Centennial farm, in Cameron, Illinois graduating from Galesburg High School in 1956. Jackie attended Iowa State University where she graduated with a degree in home economics. She married Jerry Lee Moore on June 19, 1960. The family retired from the US Air Force in North Little Rock, Arkansas where Jackie worked as a Para-professional at Cato Elementary School. In 1997 when Jerry & Jackie fully retired, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was also very involved at Vista Grande Community Church where she acted out her concern for those less fortunate or marginalized through many volunteer and service opportunities. Jackie was a thoughtful, Kind and accepting mother, grandmother, and friend who always took care of those in her orbit through food and friendship, her gluten free brownies were legendary. She was an accomplished seamstress who taught her granddaughters how to sew. She was always concerned about the well-being of others and had a hug ready for anyone who needed one. Her greatest joy was her family.
