Janet L. Hull

Janet L. Hull, age 83, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 7:26 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her Monmouth home. Janet was born on September 13, 1935 in Monmouth and is the daughter of Charles R. and Phyllis D. Rowley Oaks. She was raised and educated in Monmouth where she attended the Monmouth Public Schools and was a cheer leader. Janet graduated from Monmouth High School in the class of 1953. Janet married Dale C. "Jack" Hull on October 21, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa, and he is surviving. Janet first was secretary for Western Stoneware Company in Monmouth, Illinois for 16 years. She then was secretary for the Political Economy and Commerce Department and the Accounting Department as Monmouth College. She is a life member of J. W. Club and has volunteered at OSF Holy Family Medical Center for a number of years. Janet is an active member of Heritage Bible Church where she has served as an Elder and Deacon and on several of it's committees. Janet and Jack have spent the last 20 years of their 63 years of marriage country line dancing in a number of places. Janet is a life long St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan. She is survived by her husband, Jack Hull of Monmouth, Illinois; one daughter, Karen Hull (Doug McClintock) of Oquawka, IL; two sons, Robert Hull (Tina) of Independence, Missouri and Michael Hull of Monmouth, Illinois. There are five grandchildren, Preston Hull of Monmouth, IL, Rachel Hull of Topeka, KS, Steven Gillen of Coal Valley, IL, Christina Briggs (Matt) of Morton, IL, and Travis Allen in Iowa. There is one great-grandchild, Nina Jean Briggs of Morton, IL surviving and Janet's brother, Bob Oaks (Dorothy) of Princeton, IL. Her beloved pet cat Eddie and numerous nieces and nephews are also surviving. Following her cremation a memorial service is being planned by her family on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 am. Her family plans a visitation at Heritage Bible Church and will receive their friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. Fellowship will follow at Heritage Bible Church following the memorial service. Memorial funds have been established by her family for either Western Illinois Animal Rescue or Heritage Bible Church.
