Janice "Hanner" Ann Short

Janice A. " Hanner " Short, age 66, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at the Emergency Room at OSF Holy Family Medical Center on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 1:34 am. Janice was born on January 15, 1947 in Cave City, Kentucky and is the daughter of John Milton and Ruby Felicia Coats Short. She began school in Cave City and attended North Town School. She was raised there and moved to Monmouth, Illinois where she often volunteered at Strom Center for many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints here in Monmouth, Illinois. While she resided at Oak Terrace Apartments in Monmouth she was very active in it's affairs and enjoyed cooking. " She always had her door open to a hot meal." She is survived by two sisters, Rosemary (Tony) Martin of Monmouth, Illinois and Pamela Ouellette of Jacksonville, Florida, and one brother, Jerry Short of Monmouth, Illinois. A number of Nieces and Nephews also are surviving. She is preceded in death by her parents, twins at birth, and three brothers, Wesley, Dale, and Michael. Services:A funeral service will be on Monday December 16, 2013 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon 12/15/2013. A memorial fund is being established for an activities fund at Oak Terrace Apartments.
