Janice L. Davis

Janice L. Davis, age 75, of Rozetta, Illinois, passed away at 1:05 pm on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at her residence. Janice was born on July 24,1934 in.Kewanee, Illinois and is the daughter of Howard and Lucille Lisenbee Jones. Janice raised in Oquawka, Illinois where she attended the Oquawka schools and the G & O High School. Janice married Robert L. Davis on March 17, 1951, in Rozetta. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2005. After her marriage they moved to Rozetta, Illinois into the Liberty School building where they have resided to the present day. Janice was employed for a time at the former "Formfit" company in Monmouth, and also at the former Park N Eat restaurant also in Monmouth. She also worked for a time at I.RC.in Burlington, Iowa. Janice collected decorative Chickens of all sorts and was known for her Crocheting of American Flag Afghans. She has knitted over 95 of them for her family and donated a number for various organizations and benefits. Several of her Afghans have gone to the Iraq war area. Janice was survived by two daughters: Katherine & Ronnie Boyd of Galesburg, Illinois; and Debra A. Holliway of Arvada, Colorado, two sons, Robert L. Davis, Jr. & Heather and Jeffrey O. Davis, both of Oquawka, Illinois. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Ron Jr, Jenny, John, Brian, Tara, Kelly, Lisa, Kara, Michael, and Jessica. Five great grandchildren Nick, Emily, Addison, Ezra, Parker, Jerzey, and Biannco. One sister survives Patricia McVey and Dan of Little York, Illinois; and Two Brothers Loren Jones and Shirley and Mike Jones and Molly, both of Eugene Oregon. Janice is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Three Brothers, and One Sister. Services:A grave side service will be at the Greenmound Cemetery in Keithsburg, Illinois on Wednesday August 19, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Cremation is being accorded. No visitation or calling hours are being planned by her family. A memorial fund is being established for the Henderson County Hospice. Turnbull Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
