Jeffrey D Shaw

Jeffrey D. Shaw, age 47, of Monmouth, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009, in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on September 25, 1961 in Monmouth, the son of Robert Joe and Sally Jo Gilbreth Shaw. Jeffrey was reared and educated in the Monmouth area and graduated from Monmouth High School. He then attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg graduating with a degree in law enforcement. After school Jeffrey entered the Grocery business and worked at Giant Foods in Monmouth and various other grocery stores in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth. Jeffrey enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, and carpentry. Surviving Jeffrey are his parents, Joe and Sally Shaw of Lake Warren, one son, Jacob Shaw, two daughters; Hannah M.Shaw and Hailey Kay Shaw, all of Gladstone, Missouri. One brother, Rory Shaw of Monmouth, one sister, Pam Franzen and Todd of Moline, Illinois. There are six nieces and nephews surviving and five great nieces and nephews. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his Grandparents, and two uncles. Services:Visitation and a gathering of his family and friends is planned between 6:00 and 8:00 pm on Monday evening at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation is being accorded. A private interment of his ashes is planned by the family at a later date. A memorial fund is being established for the education of his children.
