Jennette Smith

Jennette Smith, age 87, of Gladstone, Illinois; passed away at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab on March 28, 2009. Jennette was born on October 27, 1921 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Guy and Gladys Vaughn Ricketts. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and Monmouth High School. She was married to George M. Smith on October 8, 1938 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1995. Jennette was employed eighteen years at Sylvania in Burlington, Iowa. She also was a beautician and styled hair in her shop in her home for twenty years. Jennette is survived by her Daughter, Bobbie J. McCabe of Gladstone, Illinois and her Granddaughter Laurie McCarthy of Albuquergue, New Mexico and her Grandson Chad McCabe of Gladstone, Illinois. Jennette is preceded in her death by her Parents and her husband. Services:A graveside committal service for her ashes is planned on Saturday April 4, 2009 at 10:00 am at Monmouth Cemetery. No calling hours are being planned by her family. Memorial fund is established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stonghurst.
