Jessica L. Smith

Jessica Lynn Smith, 48, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

Jessica was born May 2, 1977 in Galesburg, the daughter of Neil Alvin and Lynn Sue (Colwell) Keith. She graduated from Galesburg High School and went on to earn her Nursing Degree from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg. Jessica worked in health care as a Register Nurse for 30 years, and was currently employed at OSF St. Medical Center, Galesburg as an ICU Nurse.

Jessica married Christopher Stephan Smith on September 25, 2004 in Knoxville. He survives of Knoxville as does one son, William (Brittany) Kent of Abingdon, Illinois; and three grandchildren, Myles, Hunter, and Liyla. Jessica is also survived by her father Neil Keith of Galesburg; one brother, Colby Claeys of Chicago, Illinois; and one sister Cyrsten Claeys of Chicago. Jessica was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Lynn and Wayne Palmer.

Cremation will be accorded. Additional obituary information will be published at a later date. A celebration of life for Jessica will be announced in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
