Joan M. Clarke

Joan Marie Clarke, 73, of Roseville, Illinois, died at 12:40 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

Joan was born December 7, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of George Thomas and Reva Mae (Witherspoon) Lake. She graduated from ROVA High School.

Joan married Danny C. Clarke on February 14, 2011 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2017. Joan is survived by two sons, D.J. (Becky) Godsil of Rio, Illinois and Damien Crummer of Galesburg; and three grandsons, T.J. Godsil, Ryan Godsil, and Justin Godsil. Joan is also survived by two brothers, Roger (Judy) Lake of Rio and Rod (Theresa) Lake of Savoy, Illinois; a sister, Georgia Ann (Joe) Moreno of Moline, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Kathy Lake of Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by a brother, James Lake.

Joan worked in dietary for many years at Heartland Health Care in Galesburg. She was a longtime member of Rio Presbyterian Church. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed crafts, especially drawing and painting and loved to play cards.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family memorial service will be held with burial at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
