John Avery

John H. Avery, 57, of Galesburg, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at home. John was born June 19, 1954 the son of William D. and Molinda L. (DeMoss) Avery.  He is survived by a brother, William D. Avery, II of Galesburg; and four sisters, Pat Jones and Nancy Hinds of Havana, Bertha Buckley of Peoria, and Sandy Prater of Missouri.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.  John was a roofer and barber.  John enjoyed art, and was an accomplished artist.  He loved sports, especially basketball and fishing. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Havana Cemetery, Havana, IL.  Memorials may be made to the family.
